Hummel Africa was established in 2001 and holds the license to supply all sub-Sahara African countries with hummel branded goods.

Hummel’s history in Europe goes way back to 1923, when we in fact developed the very first soccer boots. Since then the brand has evolved twofold and the famous chevrons can be seen all over the world today. It all started with the brand being worn by famous soccer teams such as Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspurs, the Danish National Team to name but a few. However, today hummel is also being worn by individual pop stars and famous faces such as Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Nelly Futardo, Robbie Williams etc.

We provide Team wear for soccer, cricket and other sports. Our extensive range includes numerous designs of soccer kits, from basic entry level to high technical level team wear with full moisture management, soccer boots, bags, shin guards, balls and the list goes on.

We pride ourselves on providing top quality branded goods at very reasonable prices and some of our extensive range is locally produced here in South Africa as we believe in keeping, where possible, the business local, thus generating jobs and local awareness, but also to give us the “African feel” and the “Proudly South African” image.

Hummel Sport & Leisure has since our arrival in South Africa provided sponsorship to some of the top teams in the South African Premier Soccer League (PLS). We have been sponsors of Wits University’s soccer team “The Clever Boys” almost since day one and are today still proud sponsors of them. In addition, we also sponsor Maritzburg United, Super Sport United and the Mvela Golden League Team PJ Stars.

Our largest sponsorship to date is that of UCB and the South African Cricket Team. In 2005 a lucrative sponsorship agreement was reached and with the team setting a new ODI record of 438 in March 2006, amongst other great result until now, we hope to enjoy a continued prosperous partnership for many years to come.

Recently Hummel Africa became Hummel Sport & Leisure SA. This was in order to cater and describe all we do. We have recently added a top quality Sport Leisure/fashion range, which is available from now and will be constantly changing to provide versatility and variation. It is an exiting new venture, but we have learnt a lot from our “big brother” Hummel International, who has made the Sport Fashion ranges in Europe and America a phenomenon.
